I love photography almost as much as I love writing. A few photos:

I took this photo in western Australia. These kids were dribbling a basketball on a platform in the Indian Ocean.
Temple in Kyoto
In Japan, we found plenty of beautiful photo opportunities in the temples and shrines.

 

Roof
The Kyoto Imperial Palace has accents of brilliant orange — our guide said the paint has been mixed with mercury to keep termites away.

 

Girls at the madrassa
I went on a whirlwind tour of India in 2006 and traveled to the Deoband area near Pakistan. These two girls were running through a madrassa.

 

Students
At the madrassa, the students greeted us with curiosity.

Goats on the Ganges
We went on a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges and saw these two goats — whose multicolored coats showed they had survived the Holi holiday — battling it out on the riverbanks.

 

Tourists and pilgrims filled the Taj Mahal.
